The Fujifilm FinePix Z70 is a compact digital camera with a lot of style that comes packed full of features, making it easy for users to upload content to the Internet and also record video in HD at 720p with a frame rate of 30fps. It sports a 12-megapixel camera and a 5x optical zoom lens making it a very capable everyday digital camera.

A well built camera

The Fujifilm compact digital camera is a good looking camera, coming with a shiny metal body that is well finished. The Z70 is built tough, making the digital camera sturdy and feel good hand with a solid weight. The front of the camera has a sliding cover and also features the Z70’s lens and built-in flash.

Everything is well positioned on the front of the digital camera, adding to Fujifilm’s overall pleasant eye-catching appeal. The back of the camera is mostly dominated by the devices LCD screen, while we also find the Z70’s control adjacent to its screen. The controls are also easy to use due to their size and layout. The Z70’s shutter release is also optimally positioned to avoid any mishaps with users taking images prematurely, which comes as a pretty cool touch.

Nice features

The Fujifilm FinePix Z70 is feature-packed, coming with a 12-megapixel CCD camera sensor with image stabilisation and a 5x optical zoom lens with a focal range of 36-180mm, 35mm equivalent. In helping photographers produce the best images they can, the Fujifilm compact digital camera features an AF mode with tracking feature, Automatic Scene Recognition and a HD video capture at 720p, but no HDMI port. The camera also features an ISO sensitivity range from ISO 100 up to ISO 1600. In making it easy for users to share images and videos, the Z70 comes with an upload function, so users can share content on either Facebook or YouTube.

Average image quality

The Fujifilm compact digital camera produces images of satisfactory quality. Noise only becomes an issue at ISO 400 and worsens as the ISO speed increases. However, the images come out looking sharp most of the time, with good natural colour. The Fujifilm FinePix Z70 does struggle in low light conditions and with night photography due to its maximum shutter speed of four seconds. The digital camera also came with an average Macro performance. The Z70’s video quality, however, makes up for what the device lacks when it comes to image quality.

The Fujifilm FinePix Z70 has to be one of the cheapest cameras coming with the number of features the device offers. The compact digital camera also carries the low budget price of £87.00, even though the camera is definitely not a budget digital camera. This also means that the device offers a tremendous amount of value for money and comes highly recommended for anyone looking for their first digital camera.
