The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ45 is one of the latest superzoom cameras to be released featuring a 14.1 megapixel camera sensor and the new Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens with zoom power of 24x and a focal range of 25-600mm, 35mm equivalent.
Improved image processing engine
The new Panasonic superzoom camera comes into the FZ-series just above the FZ35 and promises more versatility and photographic capabilities. It’s designed to look like a mini-DSLR camera, as with the other models in the Panasonic FZ-series. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ45 is looking to maintain the esteemed reputation which their range of hybrid cameras has gained over the years through upgrading the device’s image processor to the new Venus Engine HD II engine. This ensures that the Panasonic bridge camera produces the highest quality images and HD videos.
Faster, with a powerful zoom lens
In keeping the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ45 quick and sharp, the Sonic Speed AF mode is one of the fastest available on the market – according to Panasonic. However, an iA (Intelligent Auto) mode is also included which integrates the more powerful POWER O.I.S image stabiliser. Manual control is offered to the more advanced photographers, and in embracing the creative spark which numerous photographers posses, a Creative Movie mode and My Colour mode have been added.

However, where the camera really excels is when it comes to its 24x optical zoom lens which can be extended to 32x using the Intelligent Resolution function. But if 32x zoom power isn’t enough, using the Extra Optical Zoom the lens can be extended to an impressive 50.6x. HD movie capture is also offered at 720p. Framing and reviewing images is sure to be a breeze with the 3.0-inch 230,000-dot Intelligent LCD, promising the highest quality display available on a digital camera.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ45 is yet to be released and also doesn’t have a price tag. However as soon as we can get our hands on it, we’ll definitely provide a hands-on review to see if the DMC-FZ45 lives up to expectations.
