The D5000 is one of Nikon’s most versatile DSLRs. It has numerous automatic functions plus lots of scene modes to make shooting quick and simple. A great DSLR for the semi-serious shooter, the D5000 will give you the scope to shoot in manual, or if you don’t have the confidence yet, it will take over and deliver great images.

Specs

Enlargements are detailed and sharp due to the 12.3-megapixel DX format CMOS sensor and the Nikon EXPEED processing engine makes for fast and superior image processing. Low-light shooting is made easy with fast shutter speeds possible at an ISO of 3200 which can be extended up to 6400 if needed.

The Active D-lighting features four levels of intensity and will ensure that the detail in your highlights and shadows are not lost and even high contrast images have superb detail.

Compatible with the AF-S and AF-I Nikkor lenses the D5000 will have the benefit of premium Nikon optics giving your images superior colour and great contrast and an 11-point focus system, which has four AF area modes, will ensure the sharpness of every image.

Easy automation

Scene Recognition mode detects commonly shot scenes and chooses the correct exposure settings for the best image possible and D-Movie lets you record high definition video at the touch of a button. Playback and Live view are done on the 2.7 inch vari-angle LCD screen. This screen is movable so that you can shoot from any angle and still see what is going on.

In-camera editing can be done as soon as the photograph has been shot. Effects like Soft Focus and Perspective Control can be applied directly to your photograph in-camera and a Calendar view arranges your photographs according to the time and date that they were shot. GPS will enable geotagging so that you never forget where that favorite image was shot.
