While the smartphone has a far way to go in overtaking the DSLR as the camera of choice for professional photographers, the wide range of useful Apps available has made it an invaluable tool for pros and amateur picture snappers alike.

Map-A-Pic

There is nothing more annoying than seeing a great location for an image and not being able to find it again. Map-A-Pic is an Android photography app that has been designed by a photographer to help eliminate just such inconveniences. You can save the GPS location of any potential shot with the click of a button. You can then view all the locations you have already saved on a map or as a list.

As your list of locations grows you can easily find the ones that you are looking for by using tags to filter the locations already saved. You can also attach a picture of the location once it is saved so that you also have a visual reference of the place.

Finding the location again is also made easier by getting walking or driving directions to the place and you can instantly email any location to yourself or a friend.

Adva Soft AntiCrop

Yes you did read correctly. Adva Soft announced the release of the world’s first iOS photography app that employs anticrop. What that means is that instead of cropping your images you can use the AntiCrop App to expand certain areas of your image. The innovative AntiCrop App uses very complicated content filling algorithms that allow you to simply drag the borders of your image to enlarge it and the App will fill in the gaps effortlessly.

This new development will also allow you to straighten skew horizons and lines on your image quickly and easily without losing image resolution. The App is easy to master with its simple users interface and has been optimised for multi-core processors.

Both apps will fit right at home amongst your other dedicated photography applications.
