The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS33 is a funky and cool point and shoot digital camera made to meet most of the demands any novice photographer would have. The Lumix DMC-FS33 comes with a 14-megapixel camera sensor and an 8x optical zoom lens, making most simple photography tasks as easy as pie.

Simple design and okay handling

The Panasonic compact digital camera is a very well built and attractive camera with its plastic and metal exterior casing. The Lumix DMC-FS33 is also very ergonomically designed with the camera’s handgrip leaving the user in a very comfortable shooting position with their forefinger ready to depress the shutter release. The controls on the camera are also well laid out and big enough, making the camera very accessible and easy to use. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS33 also comes with a very simple design and comes in range of colours such as silver, red and black.

Nice features

In terms of features, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS33 comes with a 14.1 effective megapixel CCD-Chip 1/2,33″ camera sensor coupled with an 8x optical zoom lens with a focal range of 28-224mm, 35mm equivalent. The Panasonic point and shoot digital camera also comes with a 3-inch touch screen to frame and review images, while at the same time being able to navigate through the camera’s different features.

The Panasonic compact digital camera also comes with a movie mode which can record video in HD at 720p. In helping photographers capture images more easily and also take better images, the Lumix DMC-FS33 comes with an intelligent Auto mode, a Quick AF system, Panasonic’s renowned Venus Engine IV image processor, a High Sensitivity mode and Extra Optical Zoom making the DMC-FS33 a very flexible and versatile camera.

Exceptional image quality

When it comes to image quality, the  compact Lumix model produces images of exceptionally good quality for a digital camera of the DMC-FS33’s stature. Colours produced are warm and rich, while sometimes can look slightly overdone and over-saturated. Images also came out sharp from the Panasonic compact digital camera for the most and the camera also took on low light environments very well. Noise was also swept to the side by the Panasonic digital camera with images coming out slightly softer at ISO 800. Overall, the camera’s performance is top notch and the DMC-FS33 provides a whole lot of value for money.

Video Review

Description: This is some example footage shot using the video capture mode on my new compact Lumix camera. Considering this is primarily a stills camera I am amazed by the quality of video you can shoot with it, it's perfect for little sponateous moments you'd want to shoot, as it's so small. The picture quality is ideal for online distribution or for viewing on other small screens, it's only when you get it on large displays you come to realise the fact that is just a photo camera with an added video mode.
